GALAXY NOTE 8 RELEASE DATE, PRICE, SPECS, FEATURES

GALAXY NOTE 8 RELEASE DATE, PRICE, SPECS, FEATURES

The Korean publication quoted an unnamed official from the electronics giant, who suggested that the Galaxy Note 7 had proved extremely popular before its unusual reliability problems. Indeed, this had been in very much the trend for the Galaxy Note range over the last few years, with the phablet held in high esteem by consumers and the critical community alike. This has prompted Samsung to retain the Galaxy Note branding, and it now seems a racing certainty that the Galaxy Note 8 will indeed hit the stores this year.

GALAXY NOTE 8 – VIRTUAL ASSISTANT

When it does so, it seems likely that the Galaxy Note 8 will benefit from the same virtual assistant expected to debut in the Galaxy S8. Bixby has been developed by Viv Labs – the startup company formed by the creators of voice assistant Siri – which was purchased by Samsung some months ago.
Viv Labs CEO Dag Kittlaus has outlined the intention of Samsung to become a significant market player in software and services, and this will apparently center around artificial intelligence. Kittlaus also specifically mentioned Samsung Pay, while there is also expected to be a virtual reality focus to the Galaxy Note 8 when it is released.

USB TYPE-C

It seems odd to say it, but USB Type-C was a niche technology relatively recently, but is now considered a near certainty for the next generation of the Galaxy Note range. The connection tech was already included in the Galaxy Note 7; unfortunately this smartphone decided to spontaneously combust!
But analysts believe that there will be no particular difficulties in including USB Type-C in the next generation Galaxy Note 8, and this would be logical considering recent product releases from Samsung. In particular, It is notable that the Galaxy Gear VR headset also supports USB Type-C, and Samsung will obviously want to make sure that its flagship phablet is compatible with this proprietary virtual reality system.

DUAL-EDGE CURVED SCREEN

Samsung has already manufactured mobile devices with curved screens, and the Galaxy Note 8 was notable for its curved display. But this phablet only had curved features on the right side of the device, and analysts are suggesting that Samsung may move on from this design with the Galaxy Note 8.
It is indicated by those close to the Samsung supply chain that the Korean corporation may opt for a dual-edged curved display when the Galaxy Note 8 is unveiled. This has proved to be a success in previous device releases in the Galaxy S range, and is becoming something of a trademark for the consumer electronics giant. Furthermore, Apple is being linked with a curved display for the iPhone 8, and this may be a wraparound screen if patent information is to be believed.
This will put pressure on Samsung to produce something similar, and there is no doubt that the mega-corporation will have its nose to the ground monitoring Apple activities.

EXPANDABLE STORAGE

Samsung will also probably ensure that the Galaxy Note 8 is a particularly flexible performer by including expandable storage options in the phablet. This could be delivered via micro SD functionality, but what is certain is that the Korean manufacturer it needs to up its game in this department.
Indeed, the Galaxy Note 7 already acknowledged this by offering storage up to 256GB; on par with the iPhone 7. Considering that the latest Android smartphones can support expandable storage up to 1TB, the Galaxy Note 8 should deliver something similar, at the very least doubling the storage included In the Galaxy Note 7.

IRIS SCANNER

Another feature included in the Galaxy Note 7 for the first time was iris scanning to beef up security. It seems entirely likely this will be retained for the Galaxy Note 8, as it is an excellent option for authentication. Smartphone theft is an increasingly prevalent problem, and it is one that all the major mobiel manufacturers are responding to seriously.

IP68 AND IP67 CERTIFICATION

It is noticeable that the majority of premium mobiles available on the contemporary market are IP68 certified. The International Protection marking, a standard outlined by the International Electrotechnical Commission, denotes the resistance of consumer electronics to dust, dirt and sand. IP67 certification is a similar rating given for water resistance.
The likelihood is that both the Galaxy Note 8 and its attendant S-Pen stylus will be IP68 and IP67 certified, meaning that the phablet from Samsung will be a durable device. What this effectively means in practical terms is that it will be possible to submerge the Note 8 in water 5-feet in depth for 30 minutes. This obviously makes it possible to utilize the device in swimming settings.

BLUE CORAL

In its brief lifecycle, the Galaxy Note 7 was offered in Blue Coral. This created quite a splash with fans of the phablet range, and it seems extremely likely that this will be retained for the Galaxy Note 8, alongside gold and silver options.

RELEASE DATE

Despite some rumors suggesting that Samsung could be tempted to rush the Galaxy Note 8 to recover from the debacle of last year, the smart money is on this phablet releasing in the second half of 2017. The Galaxy S8 will will release early this year, clearing the way for the Galaxy Note 8 to hit the stores well ahead of the iPhone 8 from Apple.

PRICE

Finally, although we are a long way away from receiving official confirmation of pricing from Samsung, it seems extremely likely that the consumer electronics behemoth will be forced to freeze the price of the Galaxy Note 8 as a goodwill gesture to consumers.

Reliance Jio may launch 4G feature phones at Rs 1,500

Reliance Jio may launch 4G feature phones at Rs 1,500

Reliance Jio might announce 4G VoLTE enabled mobile phones under Rs 1,500 during this quarter. Reliance Jio has already changed the telecom sector by unveiling its 4G VoLTE service with free data and voice plans. The company could next disrupt the mobile segment with its budget phones.
Reliance was earlier rumoured to introduce Rs 2,000 VoLTE enabled feature phones but it now seems the devices will be even cheaper. Economic Times reports the company will announce 4G VoLTE enabled devices at Rs 999 and Rs 1,500 this quarter. Reliance Digital already sells 4G VoLTE smartphones with Jio 4G service for Rs 2,999 under LYF brand.
The introduction of budget 4G-enabled devices will see widespread adoption of 4G services. Recently, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said the cost of entry-level smartphones should come down to $30 (almost Rs 2,000).
"If VoLTE feature phones come into the market, then there won’t be a driving force pushing for the upgrade to smartphones; rather it will be an upgrade from feature phones to VoLTE feature phones," Faizal Kawoosa, principal analyst at Cybermedia Research told Economic Times.
The ET report says Jio's feature phones will push company's bundled apps like JioTV, JioMoney, JioChat and JioCinema. The feature phones will also have both front and rear cameras for 4G VoLTE video calling.
IDC and Counterpoint project India's smartphone market to register over 40 percent growth in 2017. Reliance Jio's move could force analysts to change that growth projection. Reliance Jio's feature phones are seen to drive demand for feature phones and affecting sales of smartphones in the longer run.

Nokia 8 Leaked Specifications

Nokia 8 Leaked Specifications
Just a few days after the official launch of Nokia 6 smartphone by HMD Global, a smartphone named Nokia 8 has made an appearance online. Even though the alleged smartphone is expected to be launched at MWC next month, Qualcomm reportedly showcased the Nokia 8 smartphone in private at CES earlier this month, and it allegedly comes with specifications to get Nokia fans excited.
Two videos of the Nokia 8 smartphone by YouTube channel Total Tech, which were supposedly shot at CES 2017, have given an up-close look at the upcoming Nokia Android phone and revealed some of the specifications of the device.
The alleged Nokia 8 smartphone has been tipped to come in two variants. The higher-end Nokia 8 variant will reportedly feature a Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM. Nokia 8 is further expected to sport a 24-megapixel rear camera with support for both optical and electronic image stabilisation. The Nokia 8 is tipped to sport a 12-megapixel shooter for taking selfies and dual-speakers are expected to be at front as well. The phone is rumoured to include either 64GB or 128GB storage options.
The lower-priced Nokia 8 variant has been tipped to pack a Snapdragon 821 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. The camera details on this variant of the phone are not yet available.
In the Nokia 8 video, no physical buttons can be seen at front of the smartphone, and the build seems to be quite similar to that of Nokia 6 smartphone that was recently launched by the company.
The Nokia 8 has been tipped to include Carl Zeiss optics, just like some of the earlier Nokia phones, and an HRM sticker further suggests that there might be heart-rate monitor functionality available with the phone.
As these are all leaks, we will have to wait for the official announcement from the company for any confirmation regarding the Nokia 8.

One-year Validity Data recharges are approved

One-year Validity Data recharges are approved

Now onwards you can recharge internet data pack with One-year validity. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) approved the proposal in a move to provide better data services to the consumers. A few months back, I already reported this.
Till now the maximum validity we are getting is only 90 days. But on an average Telecom companies like Airtel, Idea, Vodafone is offering most of their 1 GB and 2 GB mobile data pack with 25 to 28 days validity.
With the limited time validity consumers are suffering a lot, they have to recharge frequently even unused data is remaining in their existing data pack. If we forgot to renew the mobile data before the due date, all the remaining data would become useless.

The latest decision by TRAI is a great relief for the mobile consumers. TRAI made an amendment to the Telecom Consumers Protection Regulations in this regard. As per the amendment, Telecom companies can offer exclusive data packs with 365 days validity, or they can mix up with other benefits in the form of an STV (Special Tariff Voucher).
But what extent phone companies adopt is the latest change is doubtful. Because frequent mobile data recharges is the primary income source for the companies. If they offer One-year Validity Data recharges it indirectly affects their business. Even though, few companies may offer such plans for high prices.

Google Hangouts shutting doors on apps by April

Google Hangouts shutting doors on apps by April

messaging platform strategy has never really been stable. Over the years it has switched from one system and app to the next, practically promising “this” would be it. Substitute “this” with Voice, Messages, Hangouts, and now Allo and Duo, and you pretty much get the picture. Unfortunately for those who actually invested in, for example, Hangouts, they might soon find their investments rendered useless as Google shuts down Hangouts’ API that third-party app developers once used to hook into the service.
Hangouts was supposed to be the be all and end all of Google’s messaging platform, a single coherent brand both users and developers could rally behind. Although initially a part of the now obsolete Google+, Hangouts quickly group from group video chat to all-around phone, text, one-on-one video call, and video conferencing service. It even became the umbrella name for a stillborn Helpouts video chat assistance service.
Today, however, Google has Allo for text-based chats and Duo for one-on-one video chats. Hangouts, in their new vision, will be relegated to business use cases, particularly video conferencing. And to “streamline” that transition, Google has silently given its Hangouts API a death sentence. On 25th April, the API will shutdown and apps in Hangouts will cease to function.
These apps have mostly been used to add a more social, less serious flavor to Hangouts, from stickers to doodles, and even AR overlays. As such, they no longer have a place in Hangouts’ new business-minded world. Some third-party apps, however, did use those APIs exactly for what Google now intends Hangouts to be, so integrations with services and apps like DialPad, RingCentral, Slack, Control Room, and the like, will continue to function. At least until further notice.
The big question now is how long before that situation changes again, if not for Hangouts then for Google’s current messaging strategy. And Google has practically made Hangouts, to put it bluntly, boring, which would probably discourage new users and further investment, driving users towards rivals like Slack or Skype.

MongoDB Database Hit By Ransomware Attack

MongoDB Database Hit By Ransomware Attack

zero-day

MongoDB databases have suffered a surge of ransomware attacks, with over 27,000 servers currently compromised as hackers steal and delete data from unpatched or poorly-configured systems.
Used for analytics and data study, MongoDB is a famous open-source NoSQL database. In popular rankings, it comes after giants like OracleMySQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
According to ethical hacker Victor Gevers, one-fourth of 99 thousand MongoDB instances which are open to the internet have been attacked. It has been said that ransom criminals target mainly those accounts which do not have password protected admin accounts.
Hackers use automated scanning tools searching the web for signs of insecure or improperly configured MongoDB systems, he added.
Currently, the situation is really bad for MongoDB owners and there is no sign of hope. The worse part is many groups are hacking the same servers again and again, and exchanging notes on ransom which makes are almost impossible to track victim’s data. And this results in paying ransom to other people.
Hackers use ransomware to attack computers specifically of organisations and then encrypt delicate and important data, before asking for a ransom to give the data back. Small businesses to big enterprises, no one without proper resources is safe for such threats. Ransomware is used for encryption of valuable files and it is impossible for companies to get them back, and has to give in to the ransom demands.

How to use UPI to transfer money

  • You can transfer funds only from a mobile phone and a dedicated UPI app released by your bank. If you have accounts in two banks, you must install two separate apps published by both the banks from the Google Play store.
  • There are no time restrictions on the transactions. Now you can transfer funds around the clock.

So if you are a ICICI customer, your VPA address can be “person@pockets” or “mail@pockets” or “98763210@pokckets”. You can set whatever available name.

How to use Skype even if you don’t have an account

How to use Skype even if you don’t have an account

Skype, the most popular video calling website from the software giant Microsoft requires an account to use the service.
But recently the popular video calling service has introduced a new feature using which the users can now video call with their friends and family even if they don’t have an account.  This comes as an extension to the feature added by the company in 2015 October where the users are given the choice of adding non-Skype users to their conversations.
Using this feature, you will be considered as a guest. All the guest conversations are done with the unique link which one can share with their friends or family to whom he/she want to talk over the video calling serviceThe link lasts for 24 hours and allows a text chat for about 300 people and 35 people over a voice or video call.
