One-year Validity Data recharges are approved

One-year Validity Data recharges are approved

Now onwards you can recharge internet data pack with One-year validity. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) approved the proposal in a move to provide better data services to the consumers. A few months back, I already reported this.
Till now the maximum validity we are getting is only 90 days. But on an average Telecom companies like Airtel, Idea, Vodafone is offering most of their 1 GB and 2 GB mobile data pack with 25 to 28 days validity.
With the limited time validity consumers are suffering a lot, they have to recharge frequently even unused data is remaining in their existing data pack. If we forgot to renew the mobile data before the due date, all the remaining data would become useless.

The latest decision by TRAI is a great relief for the mobile consumers. TRAI made an amendment to the Telecom Consumers Protection Regulations in this regard. As per the amendment, Telecom companies can offer exclusive data packs with 365 days validity, or they can mix up with other benefits in the form of an STV (Special Tariff Voucher).
But what extent phone companies adopt is the latest change is doubtful. Because frequent mobile data recharges is the primary income source for the companies. If they offer One-year Validity Data recharges it indirectly affects their business. Even though, few companies may offer such plans for high prices.
